AppCore Selected to Present at July 15 RTP Angel Capital Exchange at BNC Center in Cary, N.C.

Cary, N.C.—The RTP Angel Capital Exchange, an open monthly networking forum held at the BNC Center in Cary, N.C. announced today that AppCore, of Morrisville, N.C.has been selected as one of two companies scheduled to present at its July 15 event.

AppCore is a developer of Web-based software applications, or “Apps,” for use on Apple’s iPhone and iPod Touch handheld devices. Users download Apps such as games, entertainment, social networking and business utilities from Apple’s iTune App Store.

AppCore is currently earning monthly revenue from its early efforts in the Apple App Store with titles such as iPopcCorn, iBelieve, FINE!, Office Pool, and Stick It!

“Since its launch in July 2008, Apple's iPhone App Store has been tapped for over a billion downloads of Apps typically priced from $0.99 to $9.99,” says Kreg Sheppard, vice president of business development at AppCore.

“When we learned how quickly the App Store was mushrooming into a major global business, we realized that there is a lucrative and immediate opportunity for smaller ventures to create a significant and sustainable presence in iPhone Apps. We are on the ground floor of something big, and we believe more capital now can take us where we need to be next,” Sheppard added.

The company’s growth plans require about $750,000 in funding to accelerate development and marketing of Apps.

“AppCore is a good example of the type of small high tech firm that the RTP community must support,” said Tom Vass, the organizer of the July 15 angel event. “Our local economy is growing an important new technology cluster in online video game development and their services support that emerging cluster.”

The RTP Angel Capital Exchange is an open business networking event that provides both existing companies and new ventures a platform for describing their growth plans.

AppCore is the second company selected to present at the July 15 event.

The event will be held at the BNC Center in Cary, and begins at 4:30. There is a $10 fee at the door to attend. Pre-registration is available at Inside919.com.
